So I have two pigs. One is a quiet shyish one and the other is a loud people-loving pig. The people loving pig squeals about everything, food, water, etc. She will squeal at any time. I go over there and she will come out of her cage and continue to squeal.
Why is she squealing?
She looks fine, she has toys, a buddy who doesn't bug her, food, water, run time.

i have one like this :)) but when poppy starts the other 5 join in :))

i just go over and politly tell them to shh if they have already had dinner :))... they never listen though so i just ignore it

Your piggy is probably calling for her friend. Some youngsters just CAN'T shut up, unless they are fast asleep! They will calm down a lot once they're adults. At a few months old, youngsters are at their most vocal because that is the most dangerous phase for the piggy herd - the youngsters are out and about on their own and much more likely to run into trouble without the experience yet to recognise and avoid trouble in the first place. Chattering away is a constant update for the group that all is OK.

How do you think one of my piggies came by the Welsh name Telyn, which means the "harp"? :)) Or thinking of my current motion detector Tegan - she's extended her range now to wheeking as soon as the front door opens (in case the neighbour comes in to feed teh piggies), the kitchen door goes (fresh grass), the fridge door is used or you simply do something in the kitchen... not to mention any rustling bags...

I know guineas can be really loud. When the quieter of the two squeals it louder...
Everytime they squeal they get shhhhed... sometimes works.
The louder one, Chirpy, got her name from being loud the day we got her.
they are turning 4 and 5 this spring (spring i think at least, the ages are right)
