Our 3 piggies are living in our conservatory, it's been nicely shaded over the summer by oak trees so it's been a comfortable temperature, easily kept cool on the hottest days by a fan, piggies have been fine.
But now i'm thinking about winter. We only got our conservatory at the beginning of this year, being a mild winterso i'm not sure how it'll be this winter.
I'm thinking of getting underfloor heating to help keep the piggies warm, and make the room more usable, has anyone got it, or tried it, any thoughts? It's a small room 3m x 3m, so doesn't take much to heat it up.

Hello

They will need some kind of heating in there. Underfloor heating has changed alot from my experience with it, I believe it is quite good now compared to the hot air heating i experienced as a kid. Maybe a small halogen radiator would do the job also?

My girls are in my double glazed front porch. Its 3m x 2m and like a small conservatory. I have an oil filled radiator with thermastat for the colder months. I set the temperature i want and leave it running. It turns itself on and off. Keeps my girls nice and warm.

Does it cost lots to keep it going, do leave it on overnight, or just when they'reach up and about?

I leave it on overnight, dont really need it during the day unless its really cold. As it has a thermostat ( most oil filled rads do ) it turns off when the selected temp. Is reached and turns on again when the room starts to cool. I don't know exactly how much it costs to run, we are all electric and get cheaper rate overnight, but even when we run it during the day it doesn't seem to cost to much.

You could always get an aluminium electric heat pad from Petnap? Mine have one. It costs pence to run - I just leave it on 24/7 over the winter and during sleepy times, it usually has at least 2 piggies hunkered down on it. I now have 4 pigs so will be getting another one.

The cable is encased in metal tubing and the pad itself is aluminium covered with a fleecy cover so no piggy teeth can do any harm.
