Hi all, I am in the middle of making my own guinea pig cage that will fit across 2 sets of bedroom drawers and will be roughly 160cm x 70xm with extra height on one side for a ramp and top part etc, the cage is being made with old bed slats, PVC strips and perspex glass, it will be open top for plenty if air space, very similar to a c&c cage although made with Perspex instead of grids.

My question is, the bed slats are beech coloured however would like them White to match my units also the PVC is White therefore is there a particular kind of paint I can use thatbis specific for animal cages or just normal household White paint?

Thanks

not sure about what type of paint but i imagine you'd have to do the painting away from the pigs and like leave it for the fumes and bad stuff to dye down on the paint ? or something not sure, hope someone can help !

You could try plasti-cote spray paint, it was reccomended for me to use the plastic coat my hamster toys and is supposed to be non-toxic when dry, (my hammies are fine and i made loads of toys for them)

I used Jalpac for my ramp, used to use it for the rats stuff and didn't have any ill affects
