I thought things were going well - not having made any visits to vets due to illness since last October.... but then Russell needed to see Ellie on Tuesday and last night I noticed my other newbie, Daphne was struggling to pee and was hiding away most of the time. Off we went to Matlock again and after a good examination and x-ray it appears she has grit in her bladder. She was very brave (having had her bladder squeezed and prodded) and I now have 2 lots of meds to give twice a day to 2 piggies. Luckily they both seem to like Loxicom. The bladder meds have to be given in powder form on their salad snacks and they seem to know it doesn't taste quite the same as normal but luckily they still eat it anyway 
Tonight she seems so much brighter, so fingers crossed both Russell and Daphne are on the mend. Same can't be said for my bank account, but they are worth every penny to me.!
