Hi guys
Quick updates Maisie ,poppy and dee are all settling well. Poppy appears to be the dominant one and Dee well she's just loopy running everywhere at 100 miles an hour ! Maisie seems quite happy if a little quiet compared to the others.

So my local RSPCA has 2 male piggies that desperately need a home. They are neutered but what does everyone think? Too soon? Too many?

Any thoughts gratefully received

Too many, unless you'd consider splitting up your girls into two groups. The rule is 1 boar per 1 group of sows; otherwise, you can get bad fights when the sows come into season.

Ideally, you let your girls meet any new members at the rescue to make sure that they get on. Boars need to be accepted by the sows (not the other way round).

Are the boys currently single? If so you could consider getting one of them should you have a big enough cage for three but ideally you would need the girls to be settled first and them them down to try before they buy. They may have more in at a later date if both of these boys are snapped up quickly

The boys have been at the RSPCA since November and I was considering keeping them together but separate from the girls is that any better?

Aww you sound like you love these boys. It would be fine to have them as long as their cage is not near the girls. You would have to wash your hands after handling the girls if you were to handle the boys afterwards. I say go for it!

Beware, I was having only two and now have nine.Looking forward to.pics

I have 3 boars and 2 sows kept separately from each other....the only thing is that sometimes i would really like to be able to put all of them in the same room....such as when we have guests or like now as we are having building work done. But i have to keep the girls out of sight of the boys or everyone
starts squabbling and rumbling!
