Hi, does anyone know if you can close off the ladder on the summer lodge at pets at home? Or know if I can get a hutch where I can do this?

our guineas are currently in our garage - which is attached to house with access through kitchen back door so easy for me to be with them etc. During this weather obviously making them as warm as possible and at the moment we have a 5ft one level hutch, I am in there a lot doing everything possible to keep them warm and cosy, doing heat pods and removing wet bedding often and am finding it a strain on my back.

Looked at making our own hutch but as my hubby works away from home it's difficult plus we are not the best at DIY. :))

The idea is get a 2 storey hutch, but close off bottom also I know some guineas don't use ramps well, they will have the same room as they have now and I can possibly look at opening bottom bit during summer if they will use ramp.

Hello we have a double hutch from zooplus its called the 'outback' and you can shut the trap door if needed. Our piggys don't have a problem with the ladder, but they are quite big boys. The hutch is smaller though as only 4ft

I have a big essigy baffy and i just took out the ramp and put a bit of correx over the whole top level so the hole was covered up (half an old estate agents board actually - as they are made from correx)

You cant close off the Summer Lodges Ramp unless you make something to safely cover the gap yourself :)
