Two Questions: Littler Trays & Hutch sizes

My first question is about litter trays. I put one in for the girls and they're getting better at using it (still a lot of poo on the floor and in corners) but they're soaking it and then sitting in it and its gross! I clean it as much as I can, but how do I stop them using their toilet as a bed? Is it possible? I line the tray with towels, and I added some fleece this week because its been raining so they'll be indoors more.

My second question - is just over 1.4 square metres large enough for five girls?
 
piggies like to sit in mess this is why they are piggies lol :) can you give the actual dimensions of your hutch?
 
This is normal for guinea pigs. They do not find it disgusting. You will never get them to do all their poops in the litter tray. They do far too many to be able to go there every few minutes.:))

They do that as well :D They never poo in their pigloo, bur they sure do think their toilet is comfy!

Erm, hutch dimensions are 1.8x0.8m I think.
 
Thats 5"10 by 2"7. I couldnt say, the minimal for a pair is 4 by 2? So i guess not, but if they are out lots and have lots of time in a run or in the house its not as bad.

Thats normal for guinea pigs to sit in their litter box mine sometime do that to! :P
I'm not sure about your other question sorry.
