Hi everyone!
Well, I just bought two piggies, Furgison and Haley. Both are female and from the same petstore, but I received haley about two or three days after furgison. In the store, Haley was calm, and never ran when you went to pick her up. In fact, she seemed to enjoy being held, but after I got her home, she would have none of it. She runs away when I try to pick her up, and tries to jump out of my hands when i'm holding her. She's also pretty still in the cage and hides if i move around the room or anything. Furgison refuses to stay in my arms and is constantly trying to burrow under my legs. Is this normal for piggies in a new inviroment, or am I doing something wrong?

Completely normal behaviour. They are in some where they don't know with somebody they aren't used to. They are naturally cautious because they are a prey animal but if you persevere and keep at it then they will eventually love you O0

And just so you know the best way to gain a pigs trust is through food ;D

I agree, some of mine are still skittish when I go to pick them up but they have got used to being in my arms or on my lap, it takes time and soon they will realise you are not going to hurt them and food always works it is definetly the way to a piggies heart! ;)

Thanks so much for the reassurance. It's nice to know that they'll, eventually, calm down. I was worried that maybe something was wrong. Thanks again!
