Two Housing Opinions Needed

Hi All

New here.

I have converted a shed it has levels, tunnels lots of fun stuff, but they still prefer to wreck the place. They have cubby holes, flowerly girlie boxes with fleece etc but I did line it with vinyl, how do you keep your pigs clean all day everyday?

2nd, I am creating a fun covered outside space in an awkward corner of the garden which is perfect as it has lots of shade. But I not sure whether to deck it for them, or slab it. Id prefer to deck with fun little sand pits etc as I'm better at that kind of DIY, but I know slabs would be easier to maintain.

I would appreciate your opinions.

Hi,

Don't worry piggies love to cause mayhem and trash stuff, frankly the burrowing is just natural. I don't try keeping mine clean, they will do whatever they want. As long as they are cleaned out every week, it's all good.

Slabs would be better because it will be an abrasive for their nails and will mean you won't have to cut their nails so often.

I would say slabs too! No sand please as it can be dangerous for piggies, get into eyes etc.......

Be lovely to see a photo of your shed setup, sounds really cool.

It's natural, if my piggies haven't wrecked the cage within 5 minutes, I've done something wrong. So long as you clean the poop twice a day & clean any hay trays, put plenty of hay in. That's it.
