Hi I have 2 girls, 6 months old, who get along really well. In a few weeks time I am taking on my nephews 2 boars (neutered) approx 2 years old, who also get on well together. I was planning to keep them in their own separate hutches as they are now, but to gradually introduce them so that they could go in the outside and inside runs together. Am now worried after reading posts about boars that this will cause them to fight. Didn't really want to split either group ie one boy with one girl as both sets get on great at the moment. Has anyone else tried this with communal runs/exercising etc. Getting really worried, please help.

To have 2 boars, neutered or not in a run near girls may well cause them to fight. It is purely dependant on the personalities of the boys.
I have 3 sets of pigs; 2 boars (intact) an intact boar/2 spayed sows & a neutered boar/6 sows & i have to let my 2 boars out to graze first because if hey get a whiff of the girls it sets them off :)

You will be in trouble latest when the first girl comes into season. Your boars have only lost their ability to make babies, they have NOT lost their instincts!

Sadly, you have to keep the piggies separated, either by gender or split up into two cross gender couples. I would keep the second option as plan B in case the two boys fall out. If you put them all together, I can guarantee you that you will inevitably end up with two split couples.
