Hi my Guinea pig was tweeting like a bird this morning does anyone know what this means? Thanks :)

I don't think anyone really knows what it means. If you put chirping in the search facility there are a few threads on it on the forum. One of mine does it occasionally, it seems to be when he is faced with a situation he's not too sure about.

Ahh right :) was just curious they have all been popcorning around today so I know there all ok :)

From what I've read, it's supposed to be a behavior whose purpose is pretty much unknown. It does seem to mean something to the pigs, since typically any other pigs around will stop and listen, but just what it's meant to convey is apparently not really known. I've heard pigs chirp, but it's been very infrequent... I think I heard Linney chirp twice in her 6-year-plus lifespan, and have heard Sundae (now 5.5 years) chirp once thus far, so for my pigs it was not very common and I could never figure out what provoked it.

I heard one of my boars chirp during the first night I brought them home. I adopted them last week. :-) I felt lucky to hear it given I'd learnt it was so unusual!
