After joining this forum I realized that I was too chicken and didn't properly introduce my boys and that some are/ were in their teenage stage so here is another floor time attempt with 3-4 year old Tobi and 16 month old Guiness.... Going good I think but I don't like the circling...

They look relaxed enough in the photo. Hope the re-bonding works. I wouldn't worry about the circling unless it results in actual lunges & biting.

I only worry about circling because my Tobi has drawn blood on another pig before for circling. These two are still rumblestrutting and Guiness is still mounting but definitely no lunges yay!

This is definitely not good for nerves when trying to quit smoking lol

I've had my 2 boys for over 3 years now and they still rumblestrut & the youngest still loves to mount the older boy. The older one just shrugs him off and the younger then popcorns. So, it's looking good so far for your two.

I sympathise having gone through boar bonding & quiiting smoking myself! But 4 years on, still not smoking & the boys are still managing to live together.

In the next couple days I'll keep giving them floor time together while I clean out my spare room and moving cages in there so they can have a bigger cage. Tobi is currently in the biggest cage 4x2 c&c with an L loft... Would a 6x2 with 2 separate lofts be big enough? Or should I go bigger?

Please be aware that boars always have to start back straight in square one when you separate. Once you have committed to an intro, you need to see it through! A series of short meetings is rather frustrating and counterproductive for them as it prevents them from working through the whole bonding manual past page 1.

Best of luck! Things should be a bit easier now as they are both past the worst of the hormones. The most critical phase in bonding adult boars is usually when they wake up from their first nap together and realise that another boar is with them.

It is not easy to commit to a bonding when you don't have much experience and are very worried about aggression, but the less you interfere (except for when things are blowing up, of course), the better.
You will hopefully find our guides on bonding and behaviour helpful in judging what is going on.

Then I'll keep them apart until I can get Tobi's cage into the other room and make it bigger.... What size c&c cage would be ideal for them?
