Teenage Guinea Pig
Hello all
I've come downstairs this morning and was doing the feeding rounds and heard loud teeth chattering coming from Troy and Guys cage.
Troy was really going loudly with the teeth chattering. So I looked at Guy and saw he had a big cut on his nose with blood coming from it.
As soon as I saw the blood I got Guy out of the cage and had a look all over him for any other cuts but it's just the one. So I bathed his nose in cooled boiled water. He's also cleaned it himself a bit.
Guy is now in the "hospital" cage with some water and nuggets and he is pretty chilled now after a nice cuddle.
Troy is very agitated and has no surface wounds so I gave him a full check over and he is fine. But he is squealing quite abit and really didnt want to come out of the cage. Where as normally Guy doesnt want to come out and Troy cant wait to come out. Troy even teeth chatted when I went near him.
So what I want to ask is:
1. Do I take them both to the vet?
2. After a few days do I try rebonding them? It's lucky that I am at home for the next 2 weeks so can monitor it at all times.
3. Will they have to remain separate? If so will I need to go boar dating with both or do I put a divider in their cage so they can see but not get to each other.
4. They were being kept in a 120 until I could find a bigger cage at a good price. Shall I up the game and just buy one from the shops?
5. Do I keep them in a separate room to my other Boars? Is the noise from them affecting them?
