Hi I'm hoping to offer a home to 2 piggys soon and need to buy a new run as my current run houses Leo bunny in the day.

Ive seen one in a local pet shop that is a Trixie run an apex one at £36 which seems a good price.

Its called Paradiso XL and measures 116cm x 63cm x53cm this is around (slightly under) 4 foot if my maths is right!

This would be for 2 guineas.

Would this be ok size wise, next one I saw was a 5 oot one but that was £59 Id struggle to get that in the car even flat pack.

I also looked at the metal grid ones but I'm at work 8-5 so would not feel happy with those as we do have local cats and a falconry cente nearby!

Parents keep a check on them in the day.

Il have a look online later see what else is about as want to get the right one before I get any more piggys.

Thanks Alison

I'm not sure you could try ebay, although they should never be left in a run alone, and should be supervised at all times one member recently in a very short space of time lost her piggies to a dog

Thanks Il have a look on ebay.

At the mo, unless anyone is in to supervise run time I tend to put the Monty (guinea) out once I get in around 5 for a while if warm enough as I can see the run from the kitchen/dining room.

Leo rabbit does go out all day - has done for all his 12 years - he gets fed up if I leave him in and has got a rain cover, my Mum keeps a check on him.

I could never leave the guineas out when we had a dog without constant supervision, but when I had my dog he and Leo ignored each other.

Il have a browse later today see whats about:)

No not to my knowledge - It is a very secure run, but yes nothing is ever 100% safe I guess. I live with my parents who do keep an eye on Leo in the day whilst I'm at work.

I'm more wary now we dont have a dog as he use to make sure no cats got into the garden.

I have never left guineas unsupervised in the run.

Ive had guineas and rabbits for 30 years now and have never had any problems but there is always a risk I guess leaving Leo out in the run all day.

Going to the local garden centre now to look at the runs there:)

I have a trixie hutch with the rund underneath. It has very thick black coated wire on it so is very strong. I htink trixie have very good build quality

Nothing much at the garden centre I was just browsing there but only one run in and not the strongest Ive seen - terrible fastners and £59.

If I dont find any online I think Il go with the Trixie one - hope I can manage to construct it! Have managed 2 hutches in the past but never a run.

Ive ordered the Trixie run and they say they will assemble it for me, being collected tomorrow.

So that means Ive got a nice hutch and a run now ready and waiting for a couple of rescue guineas at some stage in the future:)

Ive also typically found a couple of options for holiday boarding if we go away in July.

Dads said Its typical we have not found any holiday accomodation for ourselves yet, but the furries including possible future ones have got their holiday boarding all sorted:))
