Trim/Sulfa

Hi everyone,
my guinea pig has been prescribed the antibiotic Trim/Sulfa for her eye infection (she has a bacteria) and I was wondering if I had to also give her probiotics ?

You don’t need to give probiotics with antibiotic eye drops as they don’t go into the digestive system.
Its when antibiotics are being given orally, that a probiotic is advisable

Try bene bac either 1 hour before or 2 hours after giving your antibiotic (which is a generic brand name for what is usually better known as bactrim (USA) or septrin/sulfatrim (UK).

Here is more information on what you can do. Bactrim is generally well tolerated in most cases.
