I want to make a C&C cage for my new boys as I feel their current 120cm cage is too small.

My OH doesn't seem to understand why I would want to MAKE a cage when we already have one ... especially as the only grids I could find online were pretty expensive - more expensive than the cage as we got it second hand.

BUT, an old friend said she had some of the grids which she'd sell to me, but the only problem is she lives in Edinburgh and I'm in Aberdeen.

...However, I thought if I try and convince my OH that we could do with a trip to Edinburgh (which would probably take zero effort) for the bank holiday and conviniently pop in on my friend, he'd be none the wiser AND I'd get the elusive grids. With the train fare for us both, it would be the same price as ordering online, but by doing it this way, I figure he'd be happier with me getting the grids (such a coincident she had some! haha) and we'd get a trip to Edinburgh as well ;)

What do you think? Firstly, is it worth it and second of all... Do you think my cunning plan will work? :(|)

Fingers crossed!

Getting a new guinea pig or new stuff has always worked better for me if I could arrange that hub would get something out of it as well at little extra effort... ;)

Wiebke with your tribe and trio I assumed your OH is a piggie lover too?! If not I think we need to know the secret ;)

Hub is not a pet person (but not a piggy hater, either) ... and I had to give major ground on model railways in return! rolleyes He likes tinkering with things, especially wood working, so making piggy houses etc. is something he likes doing.

Just spluttered my drink imagining that too! :)):))

My OH works on a bit of a trade off - a new game for him, something nice for Misty :(|) I got piggies in the first place because he was in big trouble (stayed out late at poker game without letting me know, had to pick him up early morning very drunk!) and apparently because I had been getting broody!

However, he has just brought me a starter of baked camembert and cibatta (sp?) so can't complain. It was yummy! x

I will phone my friend tomorrow, if I can go down on Tuesday or Wednesday, when the train fare is cheapest then it's a plan :D

Thank you, that's my darling Poppy RIP we lost her in June, aged 7 & miss her so much :(

She was the tiniest, cutest piglet ever but then that's what all us piggie mums think of our babies x)
