I have 2 indoor girls and a neutered boy pig in a huge c and c cage on a stand, about 2 or 3 feet away from my treadmill. There's always a lot of rumble strutting and squeaking and girls weeing in the boys face going on, with an incident of girl biting the other girl. If I use my treadmill will it stress out the guinea pigs further? Would they get used to the noise? I'm hoping they'll get along a bit better than they are doing, as concerned may need to separate them if things get worse.

Hi there! :) It would be a good idea to wait a bit, since your piggies aren't getting along, it might cause extra stress to your already nervous piggies. Unless of course you do this often and they are used to it already? Once they get settled down again, if possible it would be a great idea would be to move it to another room. If it's fairly quiet you might be able to keep it though, I have used my sewing machine in the same room as the piggies, and after a bit of nervousness, it was totally ignored, and daily life was resumed.

The 2 girls were related cage mates I got last Nov, but after a while the little one was bullying and biting the other so much I separated them (based on advice in an article in the forum about what was too much). I put them together with a neutered boy about 3 weeks ago. There's been lots of hormonal activity, not enough to separate. They have long spells just rumble strutting and low level resistance from the girls. Also long spells of getting along, doing zoomies, eating from the same bowl when I've laid out 3 bowls etc. Yesterday little dominant girl had a mouthful of someones fur. I'm hugely keen for the bonding to work but also have noticeably put on weight since Nov which I've just realised is when I stopped using the treadmill so as not to annoy the pigs :-) Thanks for your advice.

How stressful it must be for you! :( Hope your piggies start getting along better soon.
