Hey guys :D
(I’m new sp I’m sorry if I make any mistakes on this forum)

I’m getting guinea pigs soon but the problem is I’ll be going to Sri Lanka this December for 2-4 weeks. I don’t want to leave my guinea pigs in a care home so I want to take them with me. Am I allowed to take my piggies from the UK into Sri Lanka? Or is it better of me not taking them?

As @Lady Kelly has already said, it wouldn't be the best thing for your guinea pigs to go through the stress of such a long trip and then adjusting to a new cage and climate for only a few weeks.
Plus sadly most airlines won't take guinea pigs, so it is not likely that this would even be an option.

I was recently away for 5 weeks, and we arranged for a pet sitter to visit daily and care for our guinea pigs over this time.
The guinea pigs were fine, and as we have used her in the past we knew she would be able to care for them properly - she even sends us photos!

So start looking around for a reliable pet sitter as soon as you get your pigs and I really think this will be the best option for them and you.

Sounds like that would be too much stress for the guinea pigs... as above - find a reliable pet sitter / friend who can come in and look after them for you.

Thank you everyone fo all the great advice! I’ll get a pet sitter to look after the piggies when I go on holidays!

Would it not be better to wait until you get back from your holiday before getting the piggies?
I’m planning on getting piggies soon (within in a month) the truth is I’m so excited and I don’t want to wait to get the piggies after the holidays xD

If you wait until after your holidays I think it would be better, plus if you get them before you won't see them much as you'll be jetting off on holiday.
