Travel cage

Hi. I am desperately looking for a suitable roomy travel cage for my pigs when visiting the vet. Can anyone advise me? Thank you 😊
 
How many piggies do you have and are you looking for a cage or a carrier ? I can’t find it online but I use this carrier for my 4 piggies to go to the vet as it’s just down the road. I think it cost me about £25 for the bigger version but for two pigs, this version is fine https://www.therange.co.uk/pets/cats/cat-carriers/lazy-bones-open-top-pet-carrier I like it as it has a top opening or this cheaper one here is fine for two pigs https://www.therange.co.uk/pets/cats/cat-carriers/lazy-bones-pratiko-carrier#465791

When they are travelling further, I have a small travel cage

Hi. Sorry I meant a carrier. It’s for 1-2 guinea pigs. They will only travel local not very far.

Hi, I'm sorry to butt in but as you say piggies don't travel far? My older sister had two boys that loved traveling, she lives in Bedford & my mum lives in bleasby Nottinghamshire (a good 1.5ish hrs distance) when my sister comes to visit she brings them with her, they love it. Just thought I'd share that.

Piggies generally travel well, but it wasn’t that they don’t travel far, it’s that in this particular case they don’t need to travel far

Yes, as @Piggies&buns says, I just meant in this case any cat carrier will be fine as the guinea pigs aren’t travelling far. I have 4 piggies who travel to the vets in a large cat carrier as the vets is only a 10-15 minute drive away where as when they are travelling a further distance, I prefer for them to travel in a small travel cage so they have more room but yes, guinea pigs generally travel well :)

I'm sorry if I sounded off. The more piggies travel the more they get used to it, I have 2 ladies, Panda and Marble, they haven't really travelled that far as they haven't needed to, I got them last year from a local farm, they were about 6 months old but turned 1 on Dec 31st. They have a small pet carrier. Again I hope I didn sound rude. Xx

Sorry.. the sub-forums are the sections labelled "Health and Illness", "Behaviour and Bonding" and so on. This thread is under "Daily Care and Travel". If you click on the heading for the relevant one, you then get a list of all the threads in it, and the "Post thread" button is at the top.
