Tramadol and metacam

We have been given some tramadol (0.1 every 6-12 hours) along with Buzz's metacam and I was wondering if anyone knows if it's ok to give them both at the same time or if there needs to be a gap in between?
Unfortunately the first dose of tramadol doesn't seem to have any affect so if after the second dose buzz is still in discomfort I will be ringing the emergency vets

Hi I'm not an expert by any means but when princess had both on palliative care I gave them at the same time, she loved metacam but hated the tramadol so I did that first then rewarded her with the metacam

Thank you! Unfortunately Buzz is on palliative care too, we originally tried Buprenorphine but as it was supposed to be injected it was hard to track how much he was absorbing through his gums! We're hoping that the tramadol will ease his pain instead! Buzz loves the taste! I'm guessing it tastes minty as it smells as such and buzz used to love mint!

Sorry to hear he's on palliative I hope you can keep him comfortable and have many happy today's ahead of you we tried buprecare first too, tramadol definitely helped more, sadly she was pts April 2020 when she lost her appetite as the tumour had grown

Sorry to hear that, bet she's popcorning around in piggy heaven! Unfortunately buzz has a bladder stone and surgery is too risky due to a very bad reaction last time so it is a case of hoping he can dissolve it but this is very unlikely sadly

Everything crossed for buzz it's great your getting pain relief into him
