Training Eddi

We have certainly had some interesting conversations since the guinea pigs arrived.
My favorite from this weekend;

Me: Why are you cutting the guinea pig veggies up into such tiny pieces?
Kids: We are using them as treats to train Eddi. He's really smart.
Me: That's great. What are you training him to do?
Kids: Pose for selfies.
Me: Um, ok. Wouldn't it be easier to train him to beg or something.
Kids: No that's too boring for Eddi. He likes seeing pictures of himself.
Me So how exactly do you train a guinea pig to pose for selfies?

The kids then proceeded to show me how they hold a treat right by the camera, and say 'Eddi selfie' and when he looks for the treat they take a picture and then feed him.
This weekend I learnt to never underestimate the power of creative kids paired with a hungry guinea pig.
Apparently they are saving their pocket money to buy a selfie stick with a large button, so they can teach Eddi to press the button and take his own selfies.
Either that or pee on their homework.
It was a moment of parenting triumphs in our home.
