Is wood shavings really worth it? I know its biodegradable and natural for the environment- not to mention hides unpleasant smells, but is it really worth it for £6 pounds per large bale? I used to buy four because i was once £3 pounds per large bale (£12 total) but I still found it hard to maintain. I brought a mini dustpan and brush from amazon (Morza mini sweep dustpan for desktops, you can also by it on Wish) its really handy for sweeping out the coroplast instead of using gloves, which was a huge pain.
Where can I but cheap but sturdy hiddies/pigloos/willow bridges? I'm using cardboard boxes for now and It they don't seem to mind at all.
Right now I'm using fleece blankets and lining them with mattress protectors to underline them.
They love their toys and I've got a tub full of apple sticks, balls logs and boredom breakers.

I suppose it depends how many piggies your have and how often you clean them out. I have one cage in the living room and use shavings, I cant stand the smell when they're on fleece, plus I have a boy that loves pulling holes in it.
Pretty sure I save money using shavings since I clean and wash fleece every day otherwise.
My piggies don't seem to care either way, but do seem to kick it out when they zoom around after cleaning day - I do a full clean out twice a week.

Ours used to kick it out when fresh also! I think they loved making a mess! :))

I have always used dust extracted shavings and apart from them kicking it out occasionally have never had a problem.

I pay £7.99 for a huge bale from my local pet shop that doesn’t sell animals. I can’t cope with fleece.

But it’s whatever works best for you, your piggies and your circumstances
