Toy with twine

I got Stripe a toy that looks like it is made of hay or straw with twine holding it together.

He got a piece of the twine off and was eating it so I took the toy away.

Can he eat that twine? He just loves the toy and I'd like to give it back to him.

It does look quite natural. But if it was me I’d not let them eat it.

No. But Google says twine is a choking hazard.

The pet store refunds for any reason, so I will exchange it for something safer.

Twine can cause blockages in the G.I. tract. Best to return it like you have.
