Hi new to this forum. I've had my first guinea pig for just under a week, I took him from a friend's friend who wasn't giving him the attention he deserves. He is about 8 months old and a lovely boy.

I'd like to ask advice about bedding. I have done some googling and found I can use towels and fleece instead of wood-shavings. Is this true? What sort of fleece and towels should I use?

Yes you can use towels and Fleece on top, the towels are used to absorb the wee and the fleece is used to wick away the wetness. - here's a great 'Sticky' about the bedding. :) http://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=29854

Welcome to the forum by the way.

I hope you introduce yourself and your new Guinea pig on the 'Introductions' page, Ooohh and photo...please :))

:)p

I think you should use fleece as I use woodshaving animal bedding but it gets everywhere. If you want to wash them you should put them in an old pillowcase or duvet cover:))

This is my cage filled with fleeces and towels:

They definitely popcorns more often on fleeces and towels. Plus I really love how colourful it gets.
