Which are the top five guinea pig bedding for outdoor piggies underneath hay? One being the best. Mine would start:
1. Aubiose
Thanks:)!

Done my vote on another thread

1 Fitch
2 Aubiose
3 Fleece

Saying that - it all boils down to personal preference .

1. Cage liners made from fleece
2. Fitch
3. Megazorb

These are the only 3 I have tried.
Can you tell me what fitch is? I've never seen it here before and I'm not even sure if I could get it... From the pictures it looks a little bit like care fresh recycled paper bedding...

It is perforated paper but it doesn't actually feel like paper. It feels like the stuff nappies are made from. It is in smallish chunks and is very soft and absorbent. I suppose it is like care fresh, just much cheaper as you buy it in bulk. Here's a link to the web page http://www.fitchrecycling.co.uk/animal-bedding/fitch-pet-bedding.html

Nice! I'm up for anything cheaper than that darn care fresh lol! I only use it in my rabbits litter box but it would be nice if there was a cheaper alternative! I'll see if I can find it here! Thanks!

1 - fleece, padded fleece cage liners, profleece/vetbed
2 - fitch

only other i've tried is megazorb but don't recommend that anymore. :)

Thanks, do you think Aubiose or Fitch would be warmer? The warmest one could go in the sleeping areas and the least warmest one could go in the living area!:):))

the best benefit from these types of bedding is that they keep your guinea pigs dry. I would use plenty of nice soft hay for them to keep them warm - and snuggle safe heat pads on particularly cold days

I would vote Snowflake too, as it worked really well and was soft and not dusty -

layers of newspaper did work really well during the warm summer months but once autumn/winter hit it just remained damp, but would still get a vote for the summer of it had a fine layer of snowflake on top and then hay.

now my boys are inside though they are totally fleeced! With hay over puppy pad in the hay tray or Hay over Snowflake in litter tray when the pads run out!
