My Guinea pig of 3years injured his mouth when my dog tripped me and caused my Guinea pig to get scared and jump out of my arms into his cage and his mouth hit his litter box, one of his bottom tooth came out and the other is wiggly, his teeth are also growing really fast.he dosent seem to be in pain but I fell really horrible and was wondering if anyone could help me and give me advise, thank you 😊

Sorry to hear about your piggy fall. For now, you can cut the veg into matchsticks so he can pick them up easier. Stand them up in something if possible, or maybe hand feed him if he’ll allow it. Is consider getting him booked to see the vet just to double check.

Their teeth grow continuously and quite quickly. Has it started growing back already you mean?

He hasn’t started growing back but his other intact teeth are overgrown and nothing seems to be helping and I’m not sure if I can afford many vet visits, I know you can trim their teeth but I want to try other options before having to do that, and Thatnk you so much

I’m also afraid of the other bottom tooth falling out would their be a big problem if it did?

When did he lose the tooth? And were his top incisors already overgrown?

You will need to switch to weighing him once daily to bd sure he’s eating enough. If he’s losing daily then you’ll have to step in with syringe feeding. If you’re worried about the teeth or he appears in pain then please do get him seen by the vet.

If both his incisors have now come out then you will need to switch to daily weight checks so you can ensure he is still able to pick up and eat hay properly (the incisors are used for picking up food and cutting it, the molars are used for chewing). You will also need to cut veg into thin match sticks a he can get to them.
He would need to see a vet to check that the break. Piggy teeth constantly grow so the teeth should grow back but it ought to be checked.

Which of his other teeth are overgrown?
If his other teeth have been diagnosed as being overgrown then he needs to see a vet to have work done. It won’t correct itself. Teeth overgrow is the don’t eat enough hay. Chewing hay is what keeps the teeth wearing down properly. The incisors are self sharpening.
If molars overgrow then the tongue will be trapped and then they cannot eat at all.
