Hello,

Its going back and forward with Joe. Second tooth trim done Friday. He had a bit of a sharp tooth that bothered him, all the others looked very good and healthy. He didnt want to wake up from GA at first and was very poorly when I picked him up but he came around very good the same night eating everything (like. Everything. At the same time. It was a drunk and hungry monster).

He was eating okay Saturday and sunday, mostly hay and cucumber. Monday and this morning he seems to be in pain, he still eats but very small amounts at time. He is very happy for hard pellets and from what I can tell has no problem chewing hay (or pellets).

My question is simply; is this normal? I guess its pretty normal it hurts for a time and we might see good and bad for some days?
He had a lesion on his tongue from the tooth, which he eats the appetitekilling Bactrim for until this Friday.

Hes on metacam 0.7ml/2times day, probiotics and ofc critical care.

The antibiotics might be making him feel a bit off and he might be uncomfortable.

Are you weighing him daily?

It would be best to have him checked by the vet if you are worried

Daily weighing in on 1200 (give or take around 30g).

I'm not really worried yet. Hes eating but in smaller amounts/time, can relax and is out lurking around the cage. Its when he has been eating for a while I can see him make a face that I recall for pain. Maybe thats just normal this close to the tooth fix?
