I need to get an upgrade for Charlie and Chesters hutch but am finding it hard to decide which one to order.

This is for their outside hutch (the boys have indoor hutches in the garage for over winter)
It will go under the window which is fairly sheltered. Will have to be left outside over winter with a tarpaulin on it.

My other boys have a happy hutch - which is a good hutch.
I will be stuck for assembling the hutch on my own and don't own a power screwdriver which I know is handy for assembling the hutches. We are due to have some work done over summer on the house so I'm hoping if I get the hutch ordered I can ask the workmen to assemble it for me.

So here are a few ideas I've bookmarked. I'd been hanging about trying to contact the local guy off eBay who I got the garage hutches off but he just won't reply to me despite still selling on eBay? Shame as he'd of assembled it and built to what I wanted a lot cheaper yet the hutches are good.

Any comments/other hutch ideas welcome thanks!

I had two 6ft by 2ft guinea pig hutches built and delivered by @The Hutch Man. I haven't reported back since I got them as I am having problems downloading photos from my phone to lap top. I think it is always better to see photos of hutches when you are talking about them. I can recommend The Hutch Man. His hutches are strong and well made. I also got a separate outdoor run. His hutches are not cheap but taking into account the type of hutches I have been looking at in pet shops and garden centres his are far superior and should last far longer making them value for money. I know @Joanne1 also had a hutch and she may be able to provide photos of her magnificent hutch. The Hutch Man is based in Essex but he delivered my two hutches and run to me here in Yorkshire which I think is excellent customer service.

I have also had hutches made - indoor hutches and outdoor an outdoor hutch and found them much stronger than shop ones and you can design what you want. I used a hutch maker in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.

I have the bluebell hideaway from Pets at home. I love it, it was easy to put together and has tons of space :)

Thank you will have a look at the ideas ideally prefer to spend around £60-£70 so will have a look.

My new hutch has cost me £90 for the wood alone, then £8 for the mesh grills, £6 for screws, drills and other bits and pieces. Plus a bag of sugar, 2 pints of milk and a box of teabags to keep my assistant hydrated! :)) :)) :))

Have ordered a 5 foot by 2 foot hutch as in won one on eBay - a new one - will add photos once its all arrived and is set up but won't be for a few weeks as I need to wait for a friend to get back from holiday as need to borrow her hubby to help with assembling it.
Hopefully it will be great it all looks very strong and good and was a fab bargain too.

if you are looking for a really solid one that will last a very long time, then ryedale hutches are brilliant. quite expensive but i think it's worth it for the quality :)

I like the happy hutch one that looks nice :)

@alisont hiya. I've noticed you are in the Midlands. I am quite handy and more than happy to pop round to do any assembly for you if needed, for the small price of a cuppa :)
....oh that's very kind Tim, great to hear there are nice helpful people out there still :)
I wonder how far is Tim from me ;) ha ha

Tim how nice is that - thank you so much for offering to help, such a kind offer - have to say though I'm near to Stourbridge so seeing you are Sutton C way your actually about an hours drive away so I'd not expect you to travel that far to help!

Our ex neighbours have only moved 2 miles away and he is a builder/architect and put the other hutch together for me - as I'm looking after their hamster next few weeks I'm sure he won't mind helping save you the travel but that's such a nice offer of help - thank you:)

No problem, I travel about the Midlands a fair bit anyway so is no problem for me to pop by if I'm local at the time :)
Nice to see that you have a man who can lined up anyway :)

Actually, I go to near wainfleet sometimes, so I take my tea with milk and no sugar ( I'm sweet enough) ;) hee hee

Well my £42 hutch arrived today - only problem is looks like ParcelFarce dropped it on route as some of the parts are broken - I've been in contact with the seller who's being really good about it and I've sent him photos so he can see and he said he will send replacement parts.

Its actually looking really good quality wood and build - its the base panel that's broken one end - I decided to have a go and was quite pleased I've fixed it but if a new parts offered I'd take that as nice to have new items not broken parts. The other damaged area was the lid - some woods cracked off where it has been dropped - I could glue it down or sand it down but if a new ones offered that's fine.

Will add photos in the hutches gallery once its been assembled - friends husband will assemble it after his holiday - I'm looking after their daughters hamster at the moment so they offered to assemble the hutch, as did the workman who's done the windows here and will be fitting the bathroom here hopefully, as did Tim here - so nice to get all these offers of help:D

Hi,
Is there a link to your hutch on Ebay? I have decided to get my girls a hutch and am looking for opinions :)

thanks

Hi it was just a couple he was selling off I think but he may have more - once its assembled once friends are back from holiday I'll add photos but I reckon there are still even better hutches out there than this one but this one was a good bargain at £42 and is good quality.

My other hutch is from Happy Hutch company and there's the Hutch Man on here too. Friends who run small animal boarding recommend a company called custom hutches and runs too.

Rydale also come highly recommended.

How nice the seller saw more photos I sent him of the damaged hutch and is sending me a new hutch out next Tuesday by courier. Very good of him.

The hutch man has good hutches but unable to make any for at least a month
