Hi lovely people
It is 21 degrees C in NorthLondon at the moment and I'm not sure whether my indoor living boys need to come in from their lawn run where they have been since 9:30am. They are on the lawn and half of the run is shaded with blankets where their hideys are. We have only started putting them out this week but today is the hottest so far. What is the general consensus on max time/temp for gp's please? Thanks x

Is there a breeze too? Weather temperatures alone are hard to go by. If they have good shade and a breeze that can be fine for them. On a slightly cooler day, with less shade but less air movement, that might be too warm for them. Also it depends on the age of your pigs and if they are long or short haired.

Thanks. There is a cool breeze. They are short haired crested boys, aged 2 or 3, rescues so not sure .

I always go by if you can sit in the shade comfortably and not be too hot or cold, then it’s alright for your pigs. If you feel too stuffy or cold, then I’d bring them inside.

Generally speaking, I tend to put my guys out first thing in the morning then ring them in about 11:30 when it start to get hot. Then they go back out about 4 until it starts getting dark or cold.

One of my piggies has long hair and a lot of black, so I'm always super careful with him for those reasons. All of mine are rescues too, hard not knowing their ages for sure 😒
