So I've been looking at cages for the pigs to live in this winter. I get the idea that the Ferplast is the best. So, three questions:
1) this deal looks too good to be true? Ferplast Rabbit & Guinea Pig Cage 120 | Free P&P £29+ at zooplus!
I've been looking at second hand ones for £20-30 so only an extra £10 gets me a brand new one.

2) is it worth paying the extra £5 for the casita model?

3) I read something about RSA cages which people seemed to like- I can't find anything about them, so can anyone post me a link please?

Thanks for your help in getting my pigs one step closer to a winter inside!

Looks good to me.Zooplus often have bargains. Can I ask how many and what sex are going in it?

R6A I think you mean.
They are fab!
They come with a stand
Pull out tray
Loads of doors to easily catch your piggies ....
You can find them on eBay and little friends website!

They often have bargans on offer !

If l remember corectly , (long time ago) l waited till the 120 was on offer before buying one

Oh dear now I am so torn between the Ferplast 120 and a homemade C&C cage- I'd need to overlap the grids a bit to make it fit into the 120 gap, but I would be able to give the pigs even more room by making a loft. I can't decide!

If you are making out of C&C , what are you using for the base ?
Just a thought! Pet stors often have damaged cage's in there stoor room
When l made my setup l whent around the pet stors an bought there old cages,
And used the bases for my pigwall (c and c setup )
Just a thought !

I'd go with a C&C cage, I have the cage you're looking at, far too small for two full grown piggies (especially my boars). Me and my mum are currently in the process for modifying my cage to build a second level etc because there is not enough space at all. If you do get that cage, I recommend taking away the hidey house and buying two small food dishes and two beds for them, I forgot what they're called, they're like litlle sleeping bags, it'll help create more room, let us know what you decided!

Thanks for your reply. If I get a C&C cage it would still have the same 120x60cm floorspace as that is the gap I have to put it in. It would just give me the opportunity to make a loft.

Can I ask how you are modifying the cage to add another level?

I think I've decided to get the Ferplast. It would give a space of 4ft by 2ft which meets the minimum requirement. I'd love to build a C&C but the space I have for it is pretty much exactly 4ft by 2ft so there doesn't seem to be much point getting a C&C cage as it wouldn't be any better. I will aim to build a mezzanine level in the cage (not sure how yet!). So I'm now only deciding whether to get the traditional Ferplast or to pay extra for the casita model which gives me more height.

We're either going to create a gap in the roof of the cage in order to make a ramp, use mesh grids and correx to build the next floor, similar to how you'd build a loft on a C&C cage which has a roof if you know what I mean or because the cage is very deep, were also thinking about getting grids and fitting them on half of the cage on the inside and then getting a ramp etc so it's like there's a loft, but it's in the cage, if that makes sense, it's difficult to describe haha

Thanks! Do you have the normal Ferplast 120 or the casita? I'm so undecided between the two. The Casita looks like it would be easy to take the roof off and build a loft, but the normal one opens at the front so is easier to get the pigs out. Mine run away a lot when I try to pick them up!

I have the ferplast 120, I find it a lot easier to get the pigs out at the front, because it's on the side, it relaxes them more - sometimes they can think a predator is coming down otherwise. Mine hardly run, they do if they're in a giddy mood, if they're excited for floor time they jump out themselves, before you pick them up stroke them for a few minutes and talk to them, then they can feel more comfortable because they know you won't hurt them. If you don't want the roof on it then maybe casita would be the best option? I think you should read a lot of reviews for each one, it should help you make up your mind

I have the ferplast cage, two next to each other and made a loft out of two cc squares and used tie wraps to surcure them to the sides. I then got a bird cage ladder, added a bit of carpet and hooked that into the cc square. The bottom of it rested on the den that came with the cage.
