So as you all know i recently re-homed little Finley pig but sadly Mabel does not want him as her huspig!

So I had to re-think my housing options as there was no way Finley was going back into rescue but I don't have the room in my tiny flat for another piggy cage! So tonight I decided to build a multi-story guinea pig complex!

Here is the girls original cage (4x2 C&C):

This is how Finley has been living for the last few weeks:

and now we have the MULTI STORY GUINEA PIG COMPLEX!

Finleys part (he's hiding in his house, I don't think he's enjoyed the move!)

and the girls half:

What do you all think? It hasn't taken up any more room and it means Finley gets to stay (and soon he will be going dating for a friend, this time he gets to choose!) My only concern is that the girls bottom part seems to be a bit dark (it doesn't show much in the picture as the flash was on)? It is night time but I need to check this tomorrow in day light as I don't want them to be in darkness...

LOOKS GREAT !

And a good idea, I have Tyko's cage arranged like this so he could interact with Salt next door while he is with me, the underneath I am using as storage. In the day time it is nice and bright underneath. May look dark when your lights on because it's on the ceiling you could use a small table lamp near the girls part in an evening if you want more light :)

Finley will love dating for his new girly friend too

That looks great. TBH, my pigs would probably prefer the ground floor flat as they like the security of having a cover over them, even if it might be a bit darker than upstairs.

OoOooOoO! How very swishy, I'm so jealous of your gorgeous piggie housing it looks so fun and comfy too drool

Oh and I LOVE the bunting x)

I like the way you've used the food tray from the Freplast cage. Good idea.

love it! this is what i'm going for shortly, i have my 2 pairs of boars in 2 120 cages, one on top of the other and the boys downstairs are in semi darkness somedays so i think yours looks lighter than mine! which encourages me to do the same, never done c & c before so may need to pm you for tips to achieve this! :))

Good idea, i was thinking of getting a little light near there. Hope it's lighter tomorrow. Unfortunately the girls did lose their hay loft for Finley, they loved running up and down the ramp so it's a shame but they still have plenty of room to whizz about!

Very true! Finley's been running around and exploring now so it doesn't seem to be phasing him! He takes everything in his stride bless him!

They love that food tray! It's a good hidy place and they like to hop on and off of it. I can't believe that was the width of the cage they were originally in :( it was the 140 and was fine whilst they were babies but as soon as they grew I knew it wouldn't be big enough!

Thank you! I'd defo recommend C&C, it really is so cheap to make too and the piggies have plenty of room to run about and have their own space if they want it. No problems if you need to PM me! I didn't know about it until I joined this forum, there are so many helpful stickies and threads on here I learnt everything I needed to know before I started!

Love the cage and love even more that it means you can keep the gorgeous Finley pig and get him a new pal :)
I have a 3 storey cage and my bottom layer is darkest. I use white correx and try to use lighter fleece down there but they dont seem to mind.... and I often pop on a c&c extention / playpen so they can come out if they want to...

Thanks! There was never really any question as to whether Finley would stay, I just had to kid the OH that I was considering all options!
Haha! Thanks for the tips, I'll probably need to replace the girls correx in a few months so will track down some in white! It would have been better to have had the wider grids on the bottom too but there's no way I'm pulling it all apart again!
Also, it might be where it is positioned as the desk blocks the corner...maybe I can think of a new place to put it although options are slim!

xx>>> fantastic :))
Why not add some little fairy lights outside the lower pen, they look great and really give a lovely glow -

Oooh good idea! I'll look out for some!

Wow! This looks fantastic! Really well done! What a wonderful idea - I hope Finley finds his new wifey soon! I am looking into making a c & c cage for my boys for the winter! Do you know where is the best place to get it?

Me too, really good idea, shame i threw about 3 of these away as my pigs never bothered with them and they seemed to be taking up valuable space! mallethead

cage looks fab.... i so wish i could have indoor piggys! I love c&c cages.. you can be so inventive etc :D

Thanks guys! C&C really is brilliant! I wonder who must have thought this up to begin with! There are stickies at the top of the housing section full of info of where to get the materials from etc if anyone's interested in making one themselves!
