Just wondering if i could shred some tissue up and put in in my guinea pigs cage for them to snuggle in or chew up? will they choke on it or is it digestible and stuff to them :)

they will eat it. they will love it. its not good for them. tho it does dissolve eventually they may choke, or get bloat. try dry grass for snuggling in. they really like that. not hay, dry long grass.

Where do you get dry long grass from?

well i live on a property so i get grass from there. but if you don't and i assume most people don't. try going to a park, the dodgier and less used the better, there should be big patches of long grass, if not try a different park. when you find a big enough patch push the top green bit of the grass aside, there should be lots of dry grass at the bottom. reach in as far as you can, the further from the edge the less likelihood of chemicals and dog pee.
most kinds of grass can be eaten by guinea pigs and they love making little 'nests' out of the dried grass.

You need to be careful with grass over here PiggySmitten.

Firstly, if your piggies aren't used to eating grass please introduce it slowly as it can easily cause bloat.

Secondly, the grass needs to be clean. No dog poop or pee, no chemicals. So, I don't trust any park grass to be safe. I would only ever feed grass that I have grown personally.

You can give them a big handful of hay to snuggle into. I buy two types of hay, one is Meadow Hay, which is a bit cheaper and tends to be long and soft. I put in a big handful and the piggies dive under it and snooze. It's fine for them to eat too.

You can grow grass for them in seed trays then just cut what you need off.I think dried grass is high in calcium

Ooo okay :) thankyou everyone. in the summer the guinea pigs literally lived on the grass in their runs ;D they adore grass but as its getting colder and rainy here so no grass for the pigs ;( has anyone tried readigrass? i think thats what its called? i think tey sell it on chinchillas2shop :) i shall avoid tissue then, just for safety :) thanks again

I would not use redigrass as it is very high in calcium. For a treat I give mine oat hay and grass hay. You can find it on thehayexperts web site.

I have given mine redigrass - as a treat a handful every 3/4 days but the bags you buy tend to have a lots dust at bottom

Ooo, so they can have it as an occasional treat? ah yeah ;(

I pick long grass everyday when I walk my dog! There's still plenty around you just have to look a bit harder! Around fields is sometimes better than parks, or more sheltered areas under trees.
