Now that Dougall seems to be scratching less and his skin looks miles better, I am wondering if he has the type of fur that I need to brush? He is my first piggy so I'm not sure. He is fluffy but not long haired. His fur was quite coarse when I got him but is much softer now. Have attached a picture of him sunbathing this morning, what do you think? He doesn't look scruffy or anything, just a bit rumpled and fluffy . Thanks! received_1508248492546818.webp

I would brush him, it will help to remove dead hair and of course keep his coat in good condition. I never brush a smooth haired piggy to be honest, but long haired and Rex or Teddies I definitely do.

Dougall is totally lush

My Guinea Pig is like your adorable one - and I brush him and he seems to appreciate it!
