Hi, we adopted 3 rescue guinea pigs a few months and have tried different things with their setup, we now have a very solid 6ft hutch and 8ft x 3ft run attached with a runaround tunnel meaning they have constant access to the grass, it didn't take long for them to eat it down to the bare soil (I imagine the very hot, dry weather didn't help!), does anyone have any tips on how to keep the grass alive?! Apart from giving them space to run around the main point of the run was to give them a constant supply of grass. The size of the run means we can't keep moving it and we'd rather not do that anyway (we tried moving smaller runs around and then we just had patches of recovering grass everywhere). Thanks in advance :-)

Sadly not, perhaps create a divide in the room so they have access to one side and let the other recover which takes about 1-2 weeks.
I watered my grass over the hot spell to ensure they had somewhere to munch on.
You could try growing grass in trays and putting that inside the run.
Obviously you can’t treat the lawn.
But another option , so bare with me, create a tunnel to the run and move the run further away.
