Tips For Cutting Extra Thick Back Toe Nails!

Hoping for a bit of piggie toe nail advice from the lovely forum members!

I normally use large toe nail clippers for my pigs and these work well but Chewy (who is around 1 year old) has now grown up a bit and his back outer most toe nail, on both feet, are really thick and so can no longer fit through these large toenail clippers.

My other adult boys don't have this problem, so wondering what clippers are best for piggies with chunky toenails?

I bought some Kruuse nail clippers from the Vet

They are expensive but brilliant!

thanks Kate - I have had a pair similar in the past (before I got the piggy with the chunky nails) only switched to toenail clippers when they broke - mine were alot cheaper so that's why - must check out again though!

You maybe able to get them cheaper elsewhere. They are very good quality I have found

excellent recommendations - I think I will have to see them in a shop to make sure they will accommodate his chunky nails prior to buying them - may need to bring Chewy with me! lol!

These ones completely open up. I have a dog with small nails and use these small clippers so would definitely work with piggie nails. Plus the clippers are pretty small so easy to work with X
