I've had my 2 boars a few weeks now and just notices both of them appear to have a small scattering of tiny scabs under their fur. I researched the common complaints - mites and fungus - but none of the photos look similar to the scabs and neither are particularly itchy with no other symptoms.

As most of these little scabs are on their back ends and are longer nicks rather than round holes, I wondered if it might just be from their claws digging in when they've been mounting each other (which they have been doing a fair bit since they bonded). Is that a possibility? Has anyone else experienced this as I couldn't find anything similar when searching for an answer. Can upload photos if helpful?

You can upload photos, but it would be good if you had them checked by a good vet to make sure. Generally, mounting is not leaving any scars - the vast majority tends to turn out to be self-inflicted.
We have got a recommended vet locator on the top bar or you can click on this link here: Guinea Pig Vet Locator

Many thanks, Wiebke. Getting a vets appointment for next week, as it would be good for a check up anyway.
