Thank you to all of you who posted on my previous post, pram, toys out of, comes to mind.

Moving on, as the past 4 months have been a MASSIVE learning curve, I am now on the hunt for a 5ft hutch for the warmer months, as I am still unable to offer the princess permanent indoor housing.

I would like your recommendations for suppliers/options. I know I am looking for single story, and pref with long legs.

Thank you in advance

Ebay and preloved are good places to start if you haven't already. Mine have all been hand made for me and the funny amounts of space I have so I'm afraid I can't really help with too much. Just wanted to say that your piggies are lovely. Looking forward to seeing more pigtures of them in the future.

Our hutch was from RE Hutches. It's absolutely solid and weighs a tonne but they are on the pricey side. That said, I wouldn't have a hutch from anywhere else now. I'm pretty sure it'll out last even me as there is not a piece of flimsy ply in sight! :)

This is ours, it's 5ft wide and slightly over 2ft deep...

How are they on the ramps... I would love multistory, but thinking of a longer single layer to allow for running space, as I have read mixed opinions.

Most piggies need some kind of grip added to the ramp (ie a piece of carpet) Then a side added. After that they usually all learn, but i tend to side with you in that, one level of more area is better :) However I'm sure the company probably do Single story hutches too,

My lot are fine, but they've always lived in a double hutch before we got this one. Like Connie says, extra grip is a good idea.

Our ramps have been lengthened especially so the angle isn't as steep, but you can raise then end too (with a brick or hidey table or something)

:)

If you trust ebay, there are a few hutches on there which are under £60 and the suppliers are trusted.

Just a quick one i saw which has longer legs. I know that it doesn't match the 5ft requirements but this is just for an idea.

I'm keeping my eye on one on here for my piggies in the summer - Lazybones hutch and run LB-305 at around £60.

I have a 4ft double hutch from Ebay, but i can't remember the supplier details...have a look.

my boys manage a ramp easily...

Its not bad for £30 and the legs are detachable.

Currently looking for a hutch myself so thought id keep you posted! xx

My piggies are OK with ramps. My girls have always had the common sense not to run down them, and the ramp in the boys' hutch is quite steep (hutch originally belonged to a rabbit, who could cope OK) so I propped a posable wooden stick block underneath it to make it easier for them.
