How long do your piggies get out on the lawn in their runs?

Weekdays my boys will be out in the garden for around 3 to 4 hours to run around and eat the grass in the evenings, at weekends it tends to be longer when I can potter around the garden too.

However, they trim back the lawn with no mercy and their wee also tends to make the grass go yellow with a couple of hours too - so I tend to hose it down after they're back in their hutch to neutralise it. :))

I have mine out as soon as I get home from work til I go to bed. At weekends weather permitting I have them out all day.
I make sure they have food, water and places to sleep.
nice life if you can get it!

Most of the afternoon as soon as my lawn is warm and dry enough (it's in the shade of a big tree in the mornings) until the sun is gone and it is getting too fresh in late afternoon/evening, depending on the weather.

In very hot weather, from morning until evening; but always well shaded to keep the piggies as cool and comfy as possible.

If it's a nice day, my girls go out before school and are out till the evening, so about 10 hours. :(|) If it's not a nice morning but is nice when I get home from school, they go out then. At weekends they are out all day - weather permitting. They have shelter, food, water, toys, places to hide and of course lots of fresh grass to eat! :(|)

Mine now go out from 7.30am - 10pm. Sometimes they go back inside their hutch for an hour or two during the day if they need to but normally they are outside all day.

We put ours out in the morning or evening so they are not out in the full glare of the sun. On dull days they are out for much longer!

Mine come out at 5.30pm when i get home from work and come in at 10pm, i dont like to put them out in the day whilst I'm not there as there are alot of cats around here and i also found magpies last summer trying to get in the run also it gets very hot in our garden and the shade comes over just in time for when i come home from work. xx

My girls have been out from about 11am today and went back home at about 9pm. They usually have a good few hours out on weekend days, but only go out when we're inand can keep an eye on them.

During the week, they go out for about 2 or 3 hours most evenings.

Our garden gets sunshine all day so the run is always covered over for shade with boxes etc. to hide in :)

Mine can go out all day, from 8am til 9pm about. Their run is very strong and they're pretty safe to be out even when I'm not home. They have a little house to go in if it rains. But there's not enough grass at the moment for them, so the bunnies get to go on the grass (they eat much less) and the pigs have access to their run on concrete 24/7 and I pick the grass and safe-weeds from around the edges of the lawn for them to eat.

I could just put them out for a few hours everyday, to keep the grass long enough for them, but I find it such a hassle to move the run and stuff unless they're gonna be out all day. It's heavy and I'm small!

Poor piggies, I hope the grass grows more soon, they've only been out one or two days in the last week or so.

My guineas are put out from about 8am until 9.15pm at present - they have strong, covered runs with shelters for them. I move the runs daily (we have 4 rus) & they keep the grass down but at present we are running out of grass. This is unheard of in Cumbria - it's been so dry for so long.

I wondered why my grass (what is left of it) had gone yellow! I shall water it after they finish in future.

I tend to put mine out until they stop eating the grass. This is usually about an hour. I don't leave mine alone in the garden as I am worried about other animals.
