Tiger has been very scared over last week or so I did cut his nails but that was about 10 days ago now. He is off like a shot when I come near his cage and when I have him on my lap stroking him he squeels like I'm doing something horrible to him.

He bit me about 3/4 days ago. It wasn't a hard bite but got my nipple through my clothes (not quite sure how he managed it) and it hurt like mad. Couldn't have been that hard though as no blood.

I can't see anything wrong with him physically and he has had two of his mite treatments next one is on wednesday and his absess is better.

I am at a loss yesterday I gave him lettuce whilst stroking him which went ok then as soon as he'd finished he was tugging at my clothes to put him back in.

Today was worse I got him on my knee with a big piece of lettuce and he Rumbled at me the whole time he was eating it and then I just gave up and put him back in.

I have a feeling it is all the antibotics and the bathing of his face I had to do which has scared him off but not sure how to get his trust back!

Any ideas would be a help. Also was planning on re-bonding him with george at weekend should I go ahead with this even though he is not trusting me right now?

I have found that uncertain/unhappy/scared piggies prefer to hide their heads, then they feel as though nothing bad will happen. If he is out in the open on your knee then try covering him so that his head is covered and bring him close to your neck while 'swaddled' so he can hear your breathing and feel your heartbeat. A material bag works best. This really can help to settle them down and help them to feel safe. They also can tug at the material instead of you to let you know when they have had enough.

Hope this helps, Sarah x

Poor Tiger. I know when Niki gets a very nervous or jumpy piggy, she puts them in a 'fleecy pigloo/cat igloo type thingy on her knee, then they still have the security of that around them, and it really helped. This is on the same principal as Sarah has just suggested. These two are having a tough time at the moment aren't they? x

thanks will try that he was a little better today. he has his lettuce again and only rumbled once at first then he ate his lettuce and started to figit to let me know he was ready to go back in. will keep working on it

Have you tried whether he will dive under your pullover? With some pigs it works a treat in relaxing them, and they might even go to sleep on your belly or chest quite happily. Be aware that they can relax a bit too much, so don't wear any fresh underwear!

Sounds like he is rather stressed out from all the things happening to him, poor thing! Take a step back and take it as easy as possible for a few days.

I'm due for my second course of mites today as well (plus a pedicure)! Last time, Dizzy was feeling very much put upon for a couple of days, as I could only get the rough vet. Fingers crossed for everybody!
