I have two rescued piggies, a boy and a girl. They are living indoors through the winter in a corex/cube homemade cage. I have given them two plastic igloo thingys to hide in, and a tunnel I made out of correx amongst other things. The thing is that the male constantly flips the igloos so that they are upside down. This means that they then have nowhere to hide. Is there any way to stop this, as I think that the female piggy would like a little place to hide in.

The male is almost 2 and the female is coming up to 1 (as they were rescued these are approx ages).

Thanks

To be honest, I don't think that there is much you can do to stop this. Could you not buy something heavier for the little sow to hide in? My girls have 2 igloo's and Connie walks around in them moving it all over the floor. I did try to stop her from doing it with no success so I just brought a second one for Eliza x

my aflie dose this with his and his veggie dish

i have given up with hom on it and let him get on with it i only put it back up right for him when i go to feed him or if its really cold

my 4 boys used to do this aswell but that one broke and i decdied to get them a bigger one ( there have 1 to share but only will sit in it at once) snice there have had the bigger one there not done it there now on thier 3rnd one the last one somehow got a hole in it

my max sued to do it aswell but he could put his back the right way around aswell so that was not problem but he dont do it no more

the girls never even done it yet

Both my girls and boys do this. They are like kids mucking up their bedrooms and I follow them round tidying up! They seem to be having fun doing it though so I let them get on with it now. I quite enjoy tidying up after them cos all my kids have flown the nest now. Am I sad or what? lol x

One of my 2 indoor boys is forever flipping one of the shelters - it is a heavy wood one & I spend all my time trying to keep it right way up! They live on the landing & I can hear the bangs & thumps when Hutch is busy rearranging things! I still have two teenagers at home so the boys have plenty of competition in the messy room stakes!

mine dont flip the igloos but no matter which way i put it they will turn it around so the door is facing a different way. If i put it back they just move it again! Think they are just entertaining themselves!

Pickle is the only one of mine who moves things! I have a hay box (Cat litter tray) which Spike loves to sleep in, Pickle always moves it even with Spike in it! lol He uses his nose alot to nudge things up and around, even their wooden houses he nudges about and they are quite heavy! I guess he is trying to keep fit! lol mallethead

my four girls have shoe boxes to sleep in and other types of boxes (purely because they demolish anything else), and maggie-may always drags them around, then pheobe, ruby and bethany copies. they seem to find it hilarious! so i let them get on with it. silly piggies
