Junior Guinea Pig
Pompom was very aggresive to her original cagemate Pigwig after they were seperated for a while. (Pigwig turned out to be pregnant when we got her and had two very tiny baby females which both survived, Treacle and Boo both live with Pigwig) When we reintroduced Pompom to the new group she bullied and attacked the others especially Pigwig, drawing blood on one occation. :...
After much thought we decided to try Pompom with a neutered male. Our rescue centre suggested we take Pompom along as she had some 9 month old males (neutered) who needed rehoming and we put her in a neutral run with a black and white smooth haired boar, Mario.. She gave him a nip on first sight.. but he stood his ground with her and she has very soon realised that he is not a pushover! There is still LOTS of rumblestrutting and chasing going on but no fights as far as I can see it is all playfull and just a little bit of him establishing that he is the boss!
they even snuggle up together in thier snuggle- oo!
x)x) I have never seen Pompom so animated - they are out in the run this afternoon both popcorning and chasing each other through tunnels and hiding under thier bridge and in the igloo, sharing food and eating the grass - it is all playfull and this is the 3rd day together now! YIPPEE!
Now there is a very small chance I could get all 5 piggies together this summer..... or would that be pushing things...? I would love to have a huge enclosure built for them all! x)
