Pigwig came to us pregnant when she was only a few weeks old herself :( and she had two gorgeous daughters, Treacle and Boo and are all about a year old now. Boo the smallest one ( who nearly didnt make it - born at 75grams!) is very healthy but always been the runt so she is the least dominant. Pigwig being Mum is the "boss" but Treacle is always vying for top position and bullies Boo away from food and out of her hiding places. She also rumbles around Pigwig and often there is a little arguement - never any biting or scraping but they always seem to be avoiding each other. They have been in a huge hutch all summer - on two floors and it is 5ft x 2ft on both floors - with two water bottles and loads of hiding places. I have brought them in for the winter and they are now in an indoor cage - smaller... so less space and more time to argue! :(:(:(

I have another neutered boar who lives with his girlfriend Pompom - there is no option to bond them all because I tried and a huge fight broke out - it was horrible. I am thinking about seperating Treacle from her Mum and Sister and putting her with a new neutered boar? That way I would have three "pairs". I have the space - I have a spare indoor cage and also the outdoor summer hutch is on three floors so I can seperate them all. I would only need to buy another run. The question is - should I do this or would I be putting Treacle through unneccesary stress? Would she "miss" her Mum and sister and would they miss her? Am I over thinking this and is it normal for there to be conflict between the girls, ( it doesnt seem fair on Boo at all - she always gets last dibs on the food!) I could also try a boar with them all? would he "sort" conflict out between them? any advice welcome! :-)

Only you know your piggies well enough to decide.
Do you feel mom and youngest would be happier together without treacles interferance? If you feel it necessary treacle will I'm sure be very happy with a boar, male female pairs are usually pretty stable.

My two sows bicker all the time, the next time you see them you can't get a sheet of paper between them come feeding time. They have a house each and spend all their time camped out in each others houses playing a game of merry go round! :)) :)) :))
