Hi! I have two boars who are about 1 and I got them together and they are housed together. Well, a family needed to find a new home for their sow and I took her in in her separate cage. She is right beside my two boys. Does she need a cage mate? She might be closer to two than 1. Do you think she is happy with being near the two boys? She hide most of the time unless she is eating. But she eats fine.

It is lovely that you have taken in this homeless sow but make sure your boys can't get to her at all. They are quite determined when sow pheromones waft in their direction! You may find you need to place your sow further away or even in separate room as 2 boys with a girl can often be a recipe for disaster.

They have been right beside her for a few months now and the only thing that do is try and hew on their cage right there. I have had no problems with them near each other. Do you think she needs another sow?
