Hi guys,

I've had 2 male guinea pigs for a year now in a 2x6 CNC cage with a 2x2 loft. Due to the large size of the cage, I was wondering if I could get another male guinea pig or whether 3 boars typically don't get along. I'm asking this here as I've seen conflicting evidence but don't want to risk it.

It is also worth noting that my two boys aren't aggressive at all and don't have dominant personalities.

I look forward to hearing from you

I would avoid adding another male to your two - the failure rate of a male trios is very high and rarely successful. I would keep them as a pair and enjoy them! Please read the forum guides on the Guinea Pig Guides tab at the top - there are a lot of knowledgable people here and they have written guides to help us do things right.

Three boars can work but it’s usually very tricky to get it to work and most the time is won’t work out. I’d recommend just sticking with the two to be honest.
