Hi, I'm a novice and after masses of research and hours of boring my other half with my GP chat, I would love advice from experienced piggy owners. I'm getting two boars in a few weeks. I've read with interest peoples' experience of ramps and how to help the piggies to use them but what do people think about the bottom being open in this hutch in terms of anything tunnelling to get in? Am I worrying for no reason?

Also the way the ramp runs into the wire. Would I be better with this:

4ft Chartwell Double Luxury Rabbit Hutch | Bunny Bunny Rabbit

Thanks for your help!

If you're in predator territory, and most of us in the UK are I wouldn't leave them overnight in a run/cage that can be tunneled into. Foxes can easily get inside.
Unfortunately the website doesn't load for me so I can't see what the happyhutch cage looks like.

The second one seems okay, I'm not a fan of hutches so hopefully someone else will comment. I would make sure that if it's being left uncovered i.e. not in a shed I'd get padlocks for it. I've heard of animals being able to get into sliding catches.

I agree, second option is better. I was toying with a 2 tier hutch with a ramp but decided on a larger single level in the end for my 3 as wasn't sure how they'd get on with the ramp. I've got the 5ft Chartwell and I'm really pleased with it

Thanks for your thoughts everyone! Mrs P - I've come round to the same thinking and gone for a 5ft hutch on one level. I don't want to risk them having difficulties using the ramp.

I got mine from Kennel Gate (as well as the run & cover) as they were the cheapest and 10% off your first order :)

I purchased the 5ft chartwell double hutch and all my 3 have no problems with the ramp. With the chartwell the ramp has a side on which I think is good for them.
I would highly recommend this one and easy to clean.

I have the two tier hutch.. not that one but similar. I have no problems at all with the ramp as I put a tunnel in and they love it so much they sit half way up.... knowing too that I cant get to them there! The only thing I would change is getting a bigger hutch still... more room. As two smaller levels doesnt allow them to really dart about but saying that they more than make up for it in floor time if your able to do that
