Today's the day! Thor-pig reached six weeks post-op on the Wednesday just gone and I can't wait any longer!

I am in the process of extending the girls' cage to 2x5, which is about capacity of my permanent floorspace and the outer edge of my husband's tolerance...

I've got lots of new toys so that there aren't too many smells to worry everyone - they've been living next door to each other for the whole time anyway so am hoping for a smooth ride. I'll put them all together in neutral ground first anyway, which will let me extend the cage and scrub it all out.

Here's a Before shot; Widget knows something is up...

Best of luck! Prepare for some wild times and make sure that you conduct any intros where you can have the windows wide open or ideally on the lawn where the testosterone excess and the ensuing pee fest won't assault your nostrils quite as badly! It will likely take a few days for things to settle down, but the girls should likely accept Thor, even if they will be busy putting him into his place in the hierarchy and showing him the cold, er, bum!

:D Thanks for the tips @Wiebke - I have a lovely patch of grass that's been growing in my outdoor run so will put them out there - testosterone-pee-stink is one I have only caught hints of before and it wasn't pretty!

You won't believe what a volume an excited boar can crank out! His pee is unfortunately laden with it, and he will be spraying it all over the place, especially to mark "his" girls against any potential rivals. Things will thankfully calm down eventually, but they have to be sat through!

Ooh exciting times! I've been watching and waiting for little Thor's Intro! Mario's 6 week date is 2nd of october, he's living next door to the girls at the moments so they can talk and touch nose to nose but nothing more! So excited, i hope everything goes well. We need LOTS AND LOTS of pics! :) :)

Oh... I currently have three piggies in freeze mode who haven't twigged yet that they are all together and are huddling in the hay box that I put in their outdoor pen. Hmm.

They're out and about exploring now. Thor's had a go at humping Widget's face and she was like "nope", but other than that no grumbling or teeth chattering so far. I suppose time (and a cage that may smell slightly of girly) will tell.

I'm taking plenty of photos!

Yay! I was looking for this last night, thought you would crack yesterday:-)

Honey and Tigs have their paws crossed for a smooth family reunion. Theres always room for him here if it doesn't go to plan, but I know it will all go fine.

Brilliant news, sometimes when it goes like that you wonder what all the fuss was about!

Then again, you get a bad 'un and you just wonder "why oh why"?

Pixel's being a bit of a cow-bag; she doesn't mind Thor when they're both on the ground floor but once she's in the hayloft she decides it's definitely hers and has given Thor a couple of warning nips if he tries to come up and see her. I would think this is all par for the course - after all, he is essentially a smelly, hairy intruder!

It sounds and looks to be going great :) I love the fact they were all crammed into the pigloo - silly piggies. Will keep checking in to see how they are getting on, your setup looks great. Is that Auboise?

Thanks @sport_billy :) It's fitch - I started using it last week and it's the best thing I've found so far. So easy to clean!

Pigs have had their dinner, which went fine apart from Pixel letting the side down with a jet of piddle right into Thor's face! He looked quite bemused! Still a bit of moaning going on but all in all I think (hope!) it's going well.

I took loads of photos earlier on my camera, I'll upload them soon :)

Ah your new set up looks lovely :) This is what I have planned for my little boy rufus, so it's good to know it can work out ok! It's so nervewracking not knowing if they'll get along tho isn't it?

Great news! Looking forward to more updates and of course, pigtures! :D

So glad it all went well. Ive never had a guinea pig wee on another one, it must be quite a sight!

PICTURES, PICTURES, PICTURES!.... please

Fantastic pics and very cute piggies. It sounds as though they are getting on well, hopefully the start of a beautiful friendship.
