Hi,
I'm new to the forum and am yet to get my guinea pigs. I always had them as kids but intend to get my first piggies as a 'grown up' in the next few months. But first, I'm doing lots of research and planning.

I was looking into cage liners like those made by Piggy Bedspreads (fleece & absorbent layers all sewn together) and was wondering if anyone has bought one like this or made their own successfully?

I've heard that the material used for cloth nappies could be good to use.

Has anyone made a liner like this/knows how to go about it?

Thanks!

I use cage liners from Cosy Cavies and they're wonderful. We have two so that one can be in the wash while the other is in the cage. If you want to make your own there are a few instructions around on the net if youjust google 'how to make guinea pig cage liners'

Hope this helps :)

Do you still need to use towels/newspaper/etc underneath the liner?

Thanks I'll get googling :)

No they're an all in one. They have a layer of fleece then some wadding then a waterproof layer then a bottom layer of fleece. You have to wash fleece about 3 times first in order to get it to a point where it will absorb urine rather than it just sitting on top

I make liners also if you are looking at ordering one, if your thinking of making you own there is a thread on here that tells you how to make an easy liner.
