I would go for something a little bigger, I'd say this is too small. It equates to around 6 square foot which is smaller than the guidelines. I hope the chart below is of some use to you :)

With boars particularly, the more space you can give them, the better. Can you afford something a little bigger?

These are what we've got for our boys for when they go outside for the summer months. http://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/p...er-apex-6ft-hutch-for-rabbits-and-guinea-pigs

They're about 180cm x 60cm, 2 boys in each. I'll be modifying them by putting longer legs on them and stiffening up the mesh to make them more predator proof. For now though, I'm using them as tool sheds :))

Fox proofing is something I have thought about a-lot lately Tim. What would you suggest to make hutches more predator proof? How do you stiffen the mesh up?

The hutches that are made with a grid type 'window' are far more secure than the mesh. Sadly though ours came with the latter as you can see, they are only stapled in place. I'll be screwing in an additional frame from the inside to sandwich the mesh between the two frames, as well as another batten up the centre of it to make it more rigid. The mesh itself is not your usual thin cheap stuff and is quite sturdy, it didn't rip when I gave it a good tug. I've seen what damage foxes are capable of, I want my piggies to be 110% safe when they are outside. They love it out there, you should see them by the window in the morning waiting to go outside! :D
