Hi I think I know the answer but I want to check! Sarah is chasing Elizabeth round and I've caught her trying to mount Elizabeth. There's alot of brrr type noises and squeaks coming of Elizabeth but I've not seen fighting. I'm assuming she's in season and she'll calm down in a day or 2?

Do I need to do anything ie take one out for a few hours?

Sounds silly but just wanted to make sure I'm right!

Thanks in advance Sarah xx

I learnt that there's a lot more noise than there needs to be. There's no point in trying to take one out for a 'break' as they will only want to be back in.

Not very lady-like behaviour is it?

Some of my girls do this too when they are in season - I just leave them to it if they are just being a pest and mounting.... eventually it calms down.

One time a while back Rolo went over the top though and started attacking everypig - that was the only time I had to separate - but she was actually pulling her 'friends' fur right out.... thankfully that passed .... eventually.

Yes, that's normal behavior for an "in season" girl. My Bellatrix was doing the exact same things a few days ago. There's no point in removing one piggy, she'll eventually calm down. :)

Yep- hormone time! It should only last a day or two! I've never had to separate my girls for this, it's never led to actual fighting and doesn't last that long. One of mine used to get really 'frisky' while in season!
