Hi to you all!
So my friend is looking for bigger cages for her piggies and I’m thinking that she could buy mine, and the money can go towards a C&c for my herd :D I’ve been wanting one for a while but we’re so tight on money with our Australian immigration visas. But my animals come first and if I can make some money from their current cages then even better!
I was originally thinking a 2 x 6 but I’ve just measured it against my cages and it doesn’t actually work out much bigger! But it would make a big difference as there wouldn’t be the divider in the middle. And I could build a 2x2 loft area?
Or do you think I should get 3x6? I just worry it would take up too much room (which doesn’t worry me but don’t want to annoy my partner lol, plus this is a small rented cottage from our friends)
Or I could do the 2x6 but make the end 2 grids a 3 width?! So a sort of L shape?
I have 4 piggies
Ah decisions decisions.
I’m not quite sure what advice I’m asking but think I’m just excited to improve my piggies house, so wanted to post lol!
Plus it’s a good time to do it now as it’s winter so outdoor time is almost over! Though they do have floortime everyday.

This is my setup now:

How exciting! Personally I like an L-shape, we had a 5x2 with a 3x2 attached to the side and had the 5x2 area with fleecy floor and fleecy beds and the 3x2 was like a separate room filled with hay and edible cardboard and seagrass furniture. Then we added an extra piggy and added another 3x2 room...
Whatever you decide I'm sure the puggies will love it!

I’d go for an L shape. Then you can probably go larger as well but leave some room.

I got mine for £35 on amazon! The advert is still there if you want the link to it. It came with enough grids to make a 5 x 5 with a 5 x 1 loft (also came with the connectors) It also had extra to make a ladder and cube shelf unit above the loft. It's absolutely massive and my 4 Piggies adore it! Highly reccomend!

It's worth looking at getting grids and coroplast yourself, honestly i felt so ripped off when i spent all that money for... pre scored correx 😂

I didn't even use the connectors in the end, i used cable ties only, drilled through in a couple of places so i could connect the grids to the coroplast... it doesn't even come with grids for under the coroplast 😬. Definitely worth doing yourself.

Thanks for the tips!
How does this look?.. doesn’t it look like the right thing?
BRIAN & DANY 12-Cube Metal Wire Storage Cubes,DIY Wire Grid Bookcase, Multi-Use Modular Storage Shelving Rack, Black - 39 Panels: Amazon.com.au: Home Improvement

Looks good to me, 14 inches is the same as my c&c :)

Looks a bit expensive for just grids though- if that's the cheapest you can find maybe c&c is better for you after all! I have heard of people buying them from diy stores i think, maybe see if you can find just the grids at a hardware store.

It works out at about £35. Is that still expensive?

Or I was going to get this:
2 x 6 C & C Indoor Guinea Pig Cage by Guinea Pigs Australia
Which is about £67

I
Thought it said 65! Yeah 35 sounds quite good to me! Check the coroplast as well just to be sure but that sounds like it will work out much cheaper!
You’re right $65 Australian Dollars! as I’m In Aus haha
But only recently, so I still compare everything to English pounds to work out if it’s expensive or not lol!

Thank you so much for the opinions!
pxhione your cage looks amazing!
Forgot to ad that I’m in Australia so was Looking into getting it from :C and C Cage | Guinea Pigs Australia

But I think I’ll take a look on Aus Amazon! Thanks for the idea
Thanks! Sorry I didn't know where you were based. Please show us your new c+c cage when it's all done! Can't wait to see it.
